Jennifer Lopez vs Marc Anthony

I have to admit these Kohl's commercials are pretty funny. They must have blown their entire ad budget for years paying these two.

I have only viewed the top one so far, but I LOVE that guard actor's performance. Seriously! I hope he gets more work.

Yes, these are funny but only because of the really great supporting cast. I still hate Mark and JLo. And what does Mark weigh, like 56 lbs?

you're right, enty...considering their length, they're really counting on some massive sales to justify the $$$ spent on advertising.

...and i can't believe i'm going to say this...but jho's hair = spectacular. i'm telling you...that japanese thermal reconditioning she's been doing since '98 was THE best. move. ever.

These are funny but the first one reminds me of the episode of News Radio.

Love the female costar in Jlo's clips. I think I make those faces when I'm behind an idiot too.

I think it's great that they had JLo play her diva self and she fell for it, especially in the first one.

"Don't you know who I am???"

I didn't watch them all but the coffee machine one was funny because that happens to everyone with something. Where you can't figure out how to work it and you're just looking around wondering if you're the moron.

As annoying as Jennifer is, she is one pretty girl.

Surprisingly good and spot on.

I've never [knowingly] listened to JLo's music but am wondering if the 1st commercial would confirm our thoughts that she's MV?

Ha. That first commercial reminded me of this story back in 2008. Michael Phelps and a group of his friends went to this Baltimore bar notorious for being strict on IDs (I mean, they wouldn't let my sister in without her ID during a blizzard). And guess what? The dumbass didn't bring his ID. I mean, his face was plastered on billboards all over town and the world - there's no way anyone in Charm City couldn't have recognized his face, especially since its his hometown. Clearly that wasn't enough for the bouncers, since they refused to let him. Oh, they knew who it was; they just wanted to be dicks. It didn't come down to a "Don't you know who I am?" kind of deal, so he and his friends just left.

It was mentioned in a few local newspapers and most of the city just laughed about it. A few months later I went to that bar. On one of the liquor shelves behind the bar, I saw a box of Corn Flakes sponsored by Michael Phelps with a caption bubble saying, "Whoops, forgot my ID. D'oh!"

The best part? I got in all the time when I was underage using a fake ID.

The security guy is hilarious>>>

I actually love these, even though I'm not a big fan of either star. It looks like they based them on ESPN commercials, which are some the most genius spots on TV.

I LOVE MARC ANTHONY!

But these commercials are stupid. Poorly written, not the fault of J.Lo and Marc. Just not the most creative and predictible to boot.

Actually I'm kinda surprised at how well J.Lo and Marc acted in them. Big names with a lack-luster marketing team working on the commercial script.

Loved the deadpan security guard.

And wow, Marc Anthony has a seriously narrow ribcage.

They're funny, but it looks odd now that they are getting a divorce.

Lelaina Pierce said...

Funny story, Karmen! :)

@Henriette - I agree. How's that gonna work exactly?

I am just starting to think that this whole divorce thing is a hoax. They have the new talent show together, matching lines at Kohl's, they vacay together, etc. What would it do for their "brand" if they got back together? Tru love conquers all and all that? Maybe I'm nuts, but it could happen...
