Casey Anthony Trial

Yesterday was a more interesting day than others this week. We had one expert who testified about the computer at Casey Anthony's home being used to search for the word chloroform. I had heard that previously, but then another expert testified that in addition to that term, Casey's computer also had searched for

• Self defense
• Hand to hand combat
• Head injuries
• Ruptured Spleen
• Chest Trauma
• Internal Bleeding
• Inhalation
• Death

All of these terms were searched on the same day in March. Although they are interesting when you look back, do they really show someone who wanted to kill someone? I would think you would be searching for ways to kill someone and not these things. This almost looks like things that would happen to you in a car accident or something.

I really wish Enty wouldn't keep following this case. I read this for light celebrity gossip. This woman is a sociopath, not a celebrity, and there is nothing stupid or silly or laughable about this crime.

Why the continued coverage, Enty?

nancer said...

how about 'how to make chloroform?'

you left that one out. WHY did you leave that one out? are you pals with jose baez or something?

mikey said...

I don't mind the coverage, but please get it correct. She also searched how to make chloroform 84 times and neck braking. It's more like she was trying to kill the child and have it appear to be an accident.

Murphy Brown 2020 said...

Enty, I know you're a lawyer and everything, but the whole "let's play armchair detective!" thing is getting really old.

A woman actually murdered her child. I don't find it interesting or fascinating, personally. It's just completely enraging and sad. I don't feel like trying to delve into this woman's mindset.

And those of you who want to bitch at ME for bitching: isn't this basically on a constant loop on Court T.V.? Can't you guys just get your morbid fix over there and let the rest of us enjoy our shallow little gossipy anecdotes?

jinx, nancer.

But I thought Casey said Caylee had drowned...unless Caylee drowned in a pool of chloroform, while protecting herself in hand to hand combat, fell in the pool, ruptured her spleen, had chest trauma, etc... Casey is just a plain old compulsive liar sociopath. She's guilty as can be and I hope the jury agrees.

I like the continued coverage. Keep it up! I wouldn't want every story to be about crime, but once in a while, for a trial like this, I enjoy it.

Terri said...

I think she was planning to kill her parents, first knocking them unconscious with the chloroform and wanted it to stage it so it looked like a fight causing internal damage which would result in death.

Before she got that far, she used the chloroform to knock out Caylee but used too much. And here we are today.

Yeah I agree, the Casey Anthony updates are unnecessary. I can get this from Yahoo and Nancy Grace, I would like to stick with silly celebrities here.

Maja With a J said...

But did she google "Blue Waffle"?

chopchop said...

MAJA!! LMAO!!

I like the articles on the Casey Anthony case. Personally, if I don't like a particular article, I skip over it and move on to the next one. Maybe the people that don't like to read about this case should just not read it and move on to the next article. When Enty writes something on Kate plus 8 or Lindsay Lohan, I skip right on over it. Problem solved. It's really that easy.

RocketQueen said...

lol Maja!

I also like the Casey coverage. It's kind of the present-day OJ Simpson "will she get away with it" thing, and I'm interested to see how the trial will progress. Love true crime stories!

Taken altogether, it just seems like a dark search history. Considering what happened, it obviously suggests more. "How to make chloroform"?? I mean, seriously.

Rose said...

I like the Casey coverage as well. I don't always have time to stay up to date on the trial so I appreciate getting info here.

This site has never been strictly celeb gossip so I don't see why this case is a problem. There has been celeb gossip, politics, human interest & criminal cases from the beginning. It's just celeb gossip is the majority.

SusanB said...

I like the trial coverage also. Not for every murder that comes along, but this one does fascinate me. And like others, there are articles on her about people I have no interest in occasionally, so I just move on to the next article. Enty can't be everything to everyone!

SusanB said...

Wanted to add - I never heard the term "blue waffle" so I just googled it. I'm going to go tear my eyes out now with a sharp stick.

Sue Ellen Mishkey said...

DO NOT GOOGLE BLUE WAFFLE!! Seriously. I almost vomed when I saw it. Ugh.

Margaret said...

That's an interesting idea, Terri.

@Crila, I agree with both your posts. ((Laughed at first... glanced around shamefacedly...))

I'm interested in the trial. It's been interesting to see judge Belvin teach Jose the finer points of Florida law... the Evidence Code for example. Yikes!

Glenn Coco said...

Thanks for telling us to NOT GOOGLE BLUE WAFFLE. Of course I did. If you'd just said to google it I would have left it alone. :)

Ellebee said...

Well, maybe Casey was researching all that because she was planning to become a super spy or maybe a dungeon master for a rousing game of D&D?

Seriously though I really feel like the evidence points against her and that she needs to be held accountable for her actions.

As for the stuff on this site...we can find it other places, but ENTY has an interesting take.

I am always interested to see/hear someone else give his/her opinion on a subject. More often than not, I learn something about the topic or my reaction to it.

Let's get back to trashing the self-entitled celebrity.

It's the OJ trial of this century. There will be nothing like it in many, many years. And here's a picture of the felon shooting a bird at the jury today:

Terri said...

@Margaret: She was telling a friend she was going to get her parents home when the divorced and moved out of state. That's why she didn't look for apartments with her future roommate.

Laura said...

I appreciate the updates on this trial by Enty. Like others have said, if you're not interested in the snippet, then pass on by (like I do with Kardashians/Snookie/Real Housewives etc.)

timebob said...

I am watching the trial it is fascinating to me. So any thoughts Enty has I welcome them.

Margaret said...

Wow, Terri, that's a good one. I heard that testimony but didn't put it together. I wonder if that was her original intent...

I'm not believing Casey's tears today in court. Too little, too late.

RocketQueen said...

I feel for you who googled Blue Waffle. Michael K mentioned it in a post a few days ago and I haven't been the same since I looked it up at that time.

Sue Ellen Mishkey said...

^that's what happened to me :(

*vom*

and for future ref..if you want a laugh NEVER google "funny shit."

it's NOT what you were looking for.

I goggle "Blue Waffle" ---- Oh Shitttttt!!! That is nasty!!!!

I heard yesterday that she might get off if I heard right because she was not given her Miranda Rights also some other things.

On the subject of Googling things foolishly, I once was looking for a famous cartoon depicting the ravages of syphilis in the 19th century -- it shows a woman with a mask on, and beneath the mask there is a skull or death's face. So I typed in "syphilis" and clicked "images" and found ... hundreds of photos of people's infected nether regions. Ach.

Thanks for the "funny shit" warning -- I don't want to know where that leads.

mooshki said...

Don't worry guys - the "blue waffle" pic is a fake. Condition doesn't really exist.

Maja With a J said...

*LOL @ "Funny shit"*

You know I'm gonna have to!

bluebonnetmom said...

Thank the Lord I only wikipediaed "Blue Waffle" with no photos. The pic sounds nasty. Casey needs to fry and soon. They were showing pics of her daughter's duck taped little skull supposedly today. Casey cried and looked away. Just admit your guilt already and end this misery for everyone. Evil bitch.

Ashlea said...

Rarely do women who kill their children admit to doing so (minus people like Andrea Yates). Casey will proclaim her innocence to the very end. This makes me ill.

Meg said...

Enty, are you starting to question whether she is guitly? Like nancer and mikey said, you left out several other things she "Googled" and the ones you listed don't exactly make her seem any less innocent.

Maybe those search terms were something she was researching for one of the many, many lies she told about what happened to Caylee.

surfer said...

Why does everyone assume it that it was Casey who did the computer searches? After all, she did live at her parent's house, so it stands to reason that everyone would have had access to the computer.

I'm not defending Casey in any way, just playing devil's advocate. There is something pretty stinky about that whole family, and it just seems easier (logical?) to blame Casey for her daughter's death.

mikey said...

Because she logged in as Casey and the password was part of a boyfriend's name. It's not proff, but it leans that way. It's just another piece of the puzzle that looks like her when it's all put together.

surfer said...

I wasn't aware of that mikey. Thanks for sharing.

Damnit, of course I googled blue waffle and Jesus H. Christ, thats gross. MY GOD.

Crila16, you are seriously cracking me up.

ditto @valerie

feraltart said...

Yep, had to look up Blue Waffle. Luckily my breakfast is staying down.

brendalove@gmail.com said...

How come when I looked it up all I saw were waffles dyed blue?

Linnea said...

Those werent waffles.

J/K, I have not googled it... dont dare to.

I like true crime stories too. Keep them coming! :)

Linnea said...

Ogh, that sounded super bad, I just realized. I didnt mean that the crime should keep coming, and of course this is a tragic event. I just like reading peoples thoughts on it, was what I was trying to say.

Sis said...

The internet searches on her computer is interesting and I like the updates as well. The woman is clearly psycho but I also think the parents and the brother are weirdly off too, and that bothers me alot.

I am soooo tempted to google blue waffles, maybe somebody will post a description?

Mother Campfire said...

Um...I stopped at 'vaginal infection'. Let's just leave it at that.

Terri said...

This is how I know she did it. I lost a daughter. For years afterwards, I could not see baby things without crying. Not hysterical crying, but tearing up. Casey has done none of that.

She rented 2 movies that night that would have triggered tears even if Caylee drowned. But her boyfriend said she was fine.

Chelsea said...

Why are you defending her?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?

Alicia said...

I am on the " I like the updates" train...I haven't followed this case but from this site I do get some of whats going on, and my fave part is the reader comments! Just by reading what you smart folks have to say I get more updated and correct info than if I were to google the case and follow it on a reg news thread. I too skip over some titles that don't interest me ( Asslee and others ) and read the ones I am interested in. Keep up the great comments readers!

Mari said...

Enty, it's ways people die that can LOOK like an accident. The how to make chloroform....
I remember ages ago before she was charged the National Enquirer had the stories about her drugging the wee one with chloroform so she could go clubbing....
Looks like the NE is where it left off with the OJ trial. Say what you like about them, but there is actually some good old fashioned reporting mixed in there.

This is the most bizarre and heartbreaking story and trial! I haven’t kept up with it much, but found the link in your post interesting – thanks. When will the whole trial wrap up?
