What Do You Think? - Lindsay Lohan On DWTS

I don't know if it is true or not, but Radar is reporting that the producers of Dancing With The Stars are in secret negotiations with Lindsay Lohan for her to appear on next season's show. And when I say Lindsay Lohan I mean Dina or Michael or whoever thinks they will benefit the most. As for Lindsay, I think it would be a great idea for her career. It would show people that she would be willing to commit to weeks of rehearsals and weeks and weeks of practice which you can't do if you are all strung out on drugs and partying. It would put her in the homes of millions and millions of people each week and make her old friends at Disney happy since they own the network.

As for her parents, I can see them taking full advantage of each week being shown on live television and you know they would trot out all the kids and Dina and/or Michael would be able to make some bucks selling stories and getting the publicity they crave all through Lindsay. What I think should happen is Lindsay should do the show, and the parents and family should be banned from the set and be banned about speaking about Lindsay through the entire run of the show.

Of course, if Lindsay were to slip, then her career would probably never recover. What do you think? Good idea for Lindsay to appear on the show?

She couldn't handle the show, or the rehearsals. Bad idea for her.

It would show she's accepted what her career has become, which is why I can't see her agreeing to this. That whole family still thinks she's a *star*! However, if she does it, I might just watch this mess for the first time.

I don't think Lindsay would be able to handle the rejection if/when she gets voted off. It could send her on a bender.

Plus, if she wants her acting career back. Appearing on a reality dancing show isn't the way to do it. Small parts in good movies and build your trust in the industry back up.

Sadly, I think Dina would talk her into doing DWTS. If only for the quick six figure paycheck and the opportunity for White Oprah to be on network tv once a week.

Has-been. Check.

Famewhore. Check.

Stage mother. Check.

It's a perfect fit!

She should only do it if she's truly clean and sober, and can reign in her sense of entitlement. That show uncovers people's true personalities, and if LL acts at all like a diva, it will hurt her. How much will it hurt her? She doesn't have much further to fall on the career path, but if she loses the sympathy of the public she will lose the only revenue source she has left (tabloid $).

However, if she can bring her humble side, it will turn her into a star again. DWTS doesn't have a good record of helping people get acting gigs, but it makes household names out of folks again. And it gives her an opportunity to prove that she's clean and sober and can commit to a gig.

Since I don't watch this show anyway..sure let her try

DWTS will lead to Lindsay's future career as a reality tv star. After DWTS comes "Lindsay Lohan's Hollywood" showing her escapades around Tinseltown and attempt to rebuild her acting career.

This would be too good an opportunity DINA to pass up!

But I agree with TimeBob on this one. Lindsay needs to build up her acting career with small parts and so on. I doubt that she has the drive or stamina to do the practices real dancing takes. Not only that but I can see DWTS become a huge negative for her in that she would opt to be a Diva about everything.

I'd pity the dancer who got paired with her...unless it was Maks and he would be whipping her into shape or leaving her on the stage.

I think the discipline that it takes to prepare for DWTS could be the most wonderful thing to happen to her. That kind of physical challenge can be life altering for a lot of people. Plus, it wouldn't give her a lot of time to get into trouble.

If it didn't work out, then next stop: Celebrity Rehab, which is truly rock bottom.

The Nightmare Child said...

@Sherry - Dr. Drew has been DYING to get her on Celebrity Rehab. And to be honest, I want him to get her on the show. I really want her to get better. There's days I could care less about her and days where I have a soft spot for her. Today is a soft spot day. And you're right DWTS could help her out...but only if Michael & Dina stay FAR...FAR...FAR away.

I'm with RocketQueen, the entire Lohan family considers her an "international starlet" (whatever that is) and I can't imagine any of them, especially Lindsay, admitting how far she's fallen.

ForSure said...

I don't think her body could handle the physical demands of the show. If she signed up they would have to have a doctor and a nutrionist 24/7 to protect themselves from the inevitable lawsuit from White Oprah. You cannot work that rehearsal schedule on Rockstar, cigarettes, and a rice cake or two.

Jenny said...

Isn't she getting to be too old to be called a starlet much less international?

She is known for not showing up for appointments or showing up hours late, so DWTS would not be able to count on her to show up for rehearsals much less the broadcasts. I think it's PR BS, but if she signs on, her paychecks should be held until after she performs. Whatever happens, I will not be watching.

She'd get tons of press - she and her parents will do whatever it takes to make this happen.

Who's Lindsay?

Personally, I agree with Enty.
If the rumors are true, the producers should set the following conditions:
1)Dina, Michael and family are limited to audience only, no set visits, no "managerial" demands, and absolutely no press about Lindsay period.
2)Lindsay is put on lockdown. No missed rehearsals, no nothing. Think of it as an extension of rehab.
Of course, condition #1 is the deal breaker. Neither genetic donor (I still refuse to call them "parents") would agree to that because the potential dollar from the tabs is too lucrative a paycheck to give up.

Lilo needs to go to a real rehab, and being on camera for Celeb Rehab is not it.

MadLyb said...

You know what is sad and cynical? I'd actually post a large chunk of my money laying a bet in Vegas that she flakes out. I really don't think she is capable of committing to anything, especially something requiring discipline. Hopefully she proves those of us who feel this way wrong, but I really don't think that will happen.

skeeball said...

The introduction will go like this:

Derek Hough and his partner,

Linsday Lohan-frequent rehab resident and thief

mooshki said...

Oh, and the show wants the publicity as much as she does. Everyone associated with it is a massive fame-whore. The only way this won't happen is if they don't offer her enough $.

Daveb said...

Will they rename DWTS Drugging With The Stars or Drinking With The Stars?

Tenley said...

No f*cking way does any major corporation touch her just for the frivolous lawsuits she's filing like a slap-happy money fiend, nevermind the insurance liability. Her career is over.

CDAN Mod said...

Another possibility is that DWTS hopes Lilo creates drama for their show. Let's face it. The show is on it's last wheel which spawned, hello, Skating With the Stars.

I think that she should take it, she should take anything offered to her and then work really hard at it. But I don't think she will. I think she's done.

Too soon following rehab.

I think Jenny has a good idea - withhold the money until the deed is done. That's the only way she'll show up. Pair her up with Maks - she needs someone tough.

Truthfully, I don't think she's capable of doing this. She's too unreliable.

parissucksliterally said...

I agree with Rocket Queen. If she does it it shows she knows her career is over.

I think she is still delusional, and still thinks she is a star- she has not accepted responsibility for one of her actions, so I am convinced she will relapse again.

Hey, man, I love a good train wreck as much as the next person. I say, put her on the show, let Dina and Michael have free rein, but make sure the cameras are rolling the entire time. That would make for some interesting television!

Elle said...

if I said 'who really gives a fuck?' would that make me a bad person?

RJ said...

If she did it and really committed herself and stuck it out until she was voted off, it could help her. It would prove to potential producers and directors that she could be counted on to show up on time every day and do her job. That would be a big step forward. It would also give her some decent publicity for a change. And even though there's no such thing anymore as bad publicity, you know her publist would love something good to talk about. I think the path back to stardom for Lindsay lies in television, scripted tv - not reality, not with her family. DWTS could lead to an ABC sitcom or dramedy. A good show runner and good writers could create a good vehicle for her. She had some talent once, maybe it's still there.

Basil said...

I think if she REALLY cares about her sobriety, DWTS is a very good opportunity for her to prove it to Hollywood and her fans (if she has any left). Plus it will give her a very good reason to stay sober when she gets out of rehab.

As for what it will do for her career, it is a risky move if she acts up or has tantrums. But if she does it right, it could give her the boost she probably needs.

Dina, sure. Lindsay, nah.

@ basil - dont u think it may be a wee bit early in her recovery? U seem familiar with the term sobriety so thats why I ask..I am in early recovery myself and I dont think it would be a good idea for me to take on something as big as that ..of course I am not LL BUT I can see how stressful projects may be a bit much for now..however the strict healthy regimen would do a world of good..it has for me!

I am one to talk though..I am in the process of owning my own coffee shop..a bit stressful itself!

@RocketQueen - I agree!

Should she do it? YES! Will she? Probably not.

I'd love to see her spar with Carrie Ann Innnaaaahba.
