Four For Friday
#1 - This foreign born A list female singer is huge worldwide. One secret that she has tried to keep is that she had a baby when she was younger. A member of the family raises the baby and pretends the baby is theirs. Our singer was barely of age and she got pregnant by her then married record producer.
#2 & #3- Old Hollywood - This gruff, hard drinking, A++ Academy Award winning actor who generally played one type of role once traded some pictures he took of another A++ Academy Award winning actor having sex with a teen boy and girl for a boat. The gruff actor took the pictures and was there but was smart enough to stay out of the frame.
Only three today.

ReplyDeleteJohn Wayne for 2. Always played the gruffy old hero type. War movies, westerns, you name it--he was the solid hero. A++ for sure, they even named an airport after him.
ReplyDelete3- Brando? We've seen racy photos of him before (though not with teenage boys/girls) so it wouldn't be a shock. Brando was known for liking boats so I could see him getting blackmailed like this. And of course, he's def. A++ too

The way the blind was written, it sounds like the baby is still being raised. If this was Celine or Sade, wouldn't the kid be over 20 if they got knocked up young?

Rene was married to his previous wife until 1988, and Celine would have turned 20 in 1988, BUT Celine left the spotlight between 18 and 20, which would have been between 1986 and 1988. I guess it fits. If that's the case, her child is now 23 or 24.

For the second one, I was thinking someone more like Humphrey Bogart.

ReplyDeleteLots of girls who have never had kids have stretch marks. My daughter who is 5'10" and 130 lbs has stretch marks from her pre-teen growth spurt.
Hips, inner-thighs and breasts are common areas of quick growth.
"Huge worldwide" seems to qualify her popularity (i.e. not in the U.S.) so it's definitely Kylie.

ReplyDeleteNumber 1 is totally Celine. She's always talked about how special their relationship was from the start, in a starry-eyed, crushy kind of way and she was a teenager then. It now explains why she's been so baby crazy for so long; longing for the child that she had to give away and being raised by one of her numerous siblings??? Too easy!!!

ReplyDelete1 is Celine. She did disappear for awhile before she really started to hit it big in the rest of Canada (she was already fairly big in Quebec). She comes from a HUGE family, so it would be really easy to pass off her child to another sibling to raise. Rene was married at the time, and given how much things cost, could have easily acted as her producer as well as her manager. Not to mention, it would not be in her best interests to reveal a secret love child since it does not fit her image.

Ooh! I just noticed Alanis is in the photos! She wrote a song about about having a secret affair with her producer when she 14 or so. Not sure if I would consider her A list now, but she sure as hell was A list for a time. Hmmmmm.

What about Peter O'Toole for #2? He was a crazy, crazy drinker with tons of crazy stories. The one I remember most is when he was filming on a boat, and the boat either jammed against another boat, or the dock. His hand was off the side, and the impact pulled the flesh right off of one of his fingers at the joint. He was so drunk that instead of going to the doctor he simply popped the tip back on, wrapped it, and went on filming. Two weeks later he took the bandage off and the finger tip had healed, but since he was so drunk he didn't put it back on strait. It's been slightly askance ever since.

ReplyDeletei don't think it's bogey; he didn't generally play just one kind of role -- although people might remember him more for his tough detective roles than his others. he was a very versatile actor, though, and played a number of different kinds of characters. john wayne, on the other hand ... pretty much: tough guy, tough guy, tough guy. he loved boats so much that he bought a home in newport beach on the water so he could be next to his yacht 24/7.

#1 is most probably Celine. I live in Quebec and this has been a rumour for as long as I can remember. Her family is enormous. There is no shortage of family members who could care for this child.

I thought Bogie was a pretty straight arrow, a number of girl friends, never read in biographies of any trouble, life court short by cancer not long after after he had met and married Lauren Bacall. John Wayne was a drinker, bottle of tequila per day, accused of beating women. I never read anything/rumors about him previously? Just to being one of the many sextoys/playthings for Joan Crawford when he was starting out in Hollywood. But that description would fit lots and lots of actors. So who knows? Anything's possible? Prepared for the next Inquistion?

It is indeed Celine Dion. Everybody knows it in Quebec but the media will never talk about it. They're all scared of Rene Angelil and his army of lawyers. The child's name is Audrey and she has been raised by Ghislaine Dion. She is 24 years old. She also has a 2 year-old child which makes Celine a grand-mother.

I don't agree with the idea that it can't be Celine due to her later difficulty getting pregnant; I know several girls who were successfully pregnant when they were young, then had major difficulty trying to conceive and/or carry a pregnancy to term when they were older. Myself included in that group. Pregnancy is a lot easier to achieve when you're young.

According to http://www.lafamilledion.com/tiki-index.php?page=Biographie_Ghyslaine 3 months after the birth of Audrey, Ghislaine joined Céline on tour she was doing in Quebec. Celine released Incognito that year.

Anyway, we have a case of that happening in my aunt's family. Her sister gave birth to a boy and her parents raised him as their son. I'm guessing the son knows because it hasn't been a secret for many years now.

ReplyDeleteI think maybe people don't want to agree with the Celine choice because nobody wants a case-closed, they want it to be more difficult to crack... but if what the Canadians here say is accurate (and I think people are backing up the leave of absence in the late 80s) then I think we have a winner there. At least I'm satisfied.
I wouldn't be surprised if there was more than one singer with a secret baby.
ReplyDeleteI think that a lot of evidence is supporting Celine having a secret baby, but I don't feel she totally fits the blind. The blind says "raises" which implies younger child. That has to be an important word.
Enty... just to reiterate what others have said... yes, please give follow up clues if you can. Doesn't need to be anything big just "no one's close" or "think younger" or something like that.
You'll be surprised at the number of young mothers and besides, the industry likes to portray female singers younger than what they really are... I still believe this one is RIHANNA
ReplyDeleteThe latest Hollywood Babylon book claimas that Charlton Heston liked young boy/girl combinations. So I'll go with him for 3. The "hard drinking" immediately made me think of Robert Mitchum for 2 but it appears he was nominated but didn't win (a travesty in my opinion). So I'm left with Lee Marvin or Burt Lancaster for 2 as gruff and hard drinking.
ReplyDeleteThe use of "raises" instead of "raised" is very common in English usage for a past indeterminate event. In story telling, it's used all the time -

This is all assumed to be past.
Let's not parse things to literally here.
No matter how irregular her periods, Celine could have a conceived a child as a teenager and unable to conceive later in life.
For the argument that it can't be Celine's because of her hard time conceiving, it's a lot easier to conceive later. Also, most problems that cause irregular cycles don't hit until late teens/early twenties. Nature intends for teenage girls to have babies, even if it is no longer socially acceptable.
