America Idol Tour In Danger
Every year for the past 50 years the top ten finalists from American Idol have gone on tour. OK, not that long, but it seems like American Idol has been on that long. Anyway, for most of those years the audience demand on the tour has been huge and people love going to see the people they just saw on television. To me it was like watching a Partridge Family holiday special, where you had one or two good singers you wanted to see but they kept bringing out Danny Bonaduce.
If you are too young to remember the Partridge Family, then think of this way. It would be like going to a Twilight show and wanting lots of Rob and Kristen and Taylor and ending up with 90 minutes of Bryce Dallas Howard and the Werewolf All-Stars.
Anyway, this year, no one really cared about American Idol and the ticket sales on the tour suck. How can you tell? When Ryan Seacrest announces on his Twitter that all tickets are $20 for the next 24 hours there is a ticket sale problem.

They are going to have to cancel some of these shows or move them into smaller places. Either that or there are going to be acres and acres of empty seats.

Even though it had run its course before Paula left, I'm glad for her that it looks like AI crashed and burned after she was booted.
Yeah, agreed, time to say bye-bye. I stopped watching 4 years ago...
Yes it would make my day if Crazy Paula took AI down instead of Simon.
I like Ellen, but have not watched AI this year. I also didn't watch last year until about halfway through. I think the last year I watched with interest was the year Carrie Underwood won, but only because I was rooting for Bo Bice. I also went to their concert that year and arrived at the arena only to find a note taped to the door announcing Bo's illness, and saying he would not be in the group performing. Bah.
Anyway, they need to lower the ticket prices. The tour played the city I live in year before last and I wanted to take my daughter and grandkids, because they were all interested in the show that year, but the tickets were $100 and I just could not see coughing up $400 (plus parking and refreshments and souvenirs) to see a bunch of semi-known performers. It wasn't Elton John, for God's sake, it was...hmmm, I can't even remember who was in it that year.
YAY! hahahha, havent watched A.I. in years. Its gotten so weirdly fake and slick. The contestents, once they get closer to the top 10, start to look really polished and each has their own 'gimicky' look, i.e. the 'rocker' the 'goth' etc.
Then there is the way its now almost a pass time to boo and hiss Simon when he makes any sort of comment. It seems disturbingly fake, like the shows producers are trying WAY TOO HARD to be commercialized.
Maybe Americans are finally waking up to see what a fake ass fake show this is. Good for them
Sucky contestants + everyone being broke = bad tour sales. Simple math.
I would only pay to see Chrystal.
Voting was down something like 40 percent all season. It stands to reason ticket sales would follow suit.
Stick a fork in Idol, it's done.
I liked Siobhan Magnus just because she was so wildly creative with the singing and the costumes and the set design and the hair you just never what was going to happen. Could be great, could be a disaster. After she was booted off I quit watching. I think Siobhan has the most potential of any of the Idols if she can master that huge voice of hers. And learn to quit wearing underwear.
I'm not surprised. The title of this post alone bored me and I almost skipped over it.
I do have a friend that would go see these people on tour the past couple of years but it has definitely lost its luster. I would go see Lee or Crystal in a VERY small venue IF they were playing in my hometown. Maybe.
