Is Jonathan Rhys Meyers Missing?

It took so long to make the announcement that Jonathan Rhys Meyers was going to return to rehab that I wonder if he has been on a bender to end all benders and no one could find him. It has been almost a week since his racial insults got him banned from United Airlines for life but there wasn't a peep from an agent, manager or publicist until yesterday when they confirmed yesterday that he will enter rehab in London.

I think it is very interesting that he still has not gone to rehab. He is just planning on it. Or, his people say he is planning on it. Maybe they can't find him. Maybe he is still out boozing and they are waiting for him to crash. I think this is why there has been no apology. If you are his manager or agent or PR person you know that you have to say sorry. If you want people to pay to see you in movies or watch you on tv, you can't just call someone the N word and then never apologize. But so far that is exactly what has happened.

Why? Maybe they can't reach him to get an apology. You would think they could just apologize for him and say it was from him, but if you can't talk to him or find him, then that proposition becomes more scary because you don't know if he agrees, or if he will say something on his own that doesn't sound like the words you have written for him.

This is all very interesting.

It's like Vera looking for Norm. If he's not ready to get his ass off that Barstool, it ain't happening.

Just 'cause you play a king, doesn't mean you ARE king. Get it together, Jonathan!

Enty is not only correct he's leaving out a scarier possibilty -- his reps not only can't find him, they must actually have reason to fear he could be dead. Because they still could come out with a statement from him even if they hadn't been in touch with him -- if they thought he wasn't so messed up that he'd say something the opposite when he does surface. But they can't do even that much if they think he might actually be dead and that it would be clear he was dead at the supposed time he made the "apology." Interesting indeed.

The shame of this and all the other Hollywood substance abusers is they're usually the best of the lot when it comes to acting. Its they're hard and/or tortured pasts that bring them to abuse drugs and alcohol but also allows them to be such excellent actors and actresses.

Granted, we don't know the back story on a whole lot of them, but my guess is all the good ones have a hellacious past.

Tenley, that is a very scary thought. Who is saying his people can't find him?

What if all the people he insulted took matters in their own hands?

I always thought there was something off with him and he seems very unhappy with his life. If he's missing then I hope they'll find him, it would be such a shame to see another one go like this.

This is all so sad, I hope he's alright and gets the help he so desperately needs.

Canadachick, I know exactly what you mean. I stared at that picture a good long time, too. Longer I looked at the hip area, the more inclined I became to forgive him. Sure he's a tool, but I don't want to build a life with the man. An hour or two, and then he can be dead to me again. Joking aside, he is seriously eff-ed up. Booze is a hard beast to tame. Plus, he's kind of got that Joquian-Phoenix-nutjob look about him. Sorry for the obvious misspelling there, but I'm sure y'all know who I mean.

I thought he went downhill after his mom died. I hope he gets his stuff together.

He's had alcohol problems for a long time, but I think Ms Cool is right, it got a lot worse after his mom died. I really hope he's not missing (or worse). I happened to see this story about him in the Daily Mail today. No quotes from his people, so no "evidence" that he's NOT missing, but it's about his girlfriend giving him an ultimatum about going to rehab, so it seems a good sign...

When I stayed with my bro in law and sis in law in London last month, I watched a lot of The Tudors - they were going through the series on DVD and got seriously hooked. He's a very good actor. My proper mom-of-4 SIL thinks he's yummy. She had no idea about his demons.

It's a gorgeous and well-acted soap opera, and I know "historical" dramas take liberties with history, but man's there's some silly ahistorical shit in The Tudors.

Damn you people! Now I can't stop staring at his hip line!. Yummy. Such a shame. He is a great actor. I think he never got a handle on stardom.

Has anyone heard a peep about him saying this other than on CDAN or another gossip blog? I haven't but I've also been a recluse the past couple of weeks.
