Robert Culp Love

Robert Culp died yesterday after suffering a fall at his home. I loved this guy. I think he is one of the few actors that has transcended generations. People who grew up with black and white television love him for I Spy, but through the years he has always worked, always made an impression and everyone has always enjoyed watching him. From Greatest American Hero to Everybody Loves Raymond to the classic movie Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice. The guy was so versatile. Sure, he was known for playing kind of ruthless characters, but he was so funny too that you still kind of wanted to root for him even when he was a bad guy. Some pictures and some YouTube clips of a great guy and great career.

When I was a kid, I thought he was SO handsome. You never heard much about him over the years, but he always had work, and did it well. We'll miss him.

Nothing from his Outer Limits episode? That was one of the best from the series.

Greatest American Hero! I loved that show and will now have the theme song stuck in my head for the rest of the day.

I also saw Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice. That movie was weird, but he was SO handsome.

He was one of those few actors who could do anything. Nothing could phase him and you knew even if the project wasn't any good, he'd be good in it.

R.I.P. Robert Culp

A couple of days ago, right next to each other on the TV schedule, "Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice" and an episode of "Everyone Loves Raymond", where he was Patricia Heaton's dad. And I thought ha ha, two in a row of Robert Culp, wonder where he is now?

I forgot he was on Greatest American Hero, I had such a crush on the curly-haired guy. RIP, Mr. Culp.

Momster-

Haha, I had a huge crush on that guy too! It was one of my more normal celeb crushes, my others were Burt Convy and Gene Wilder...did I mention I was 5? LOL! I don't remember that episode of Get Smart, and I've seen pretty much every episode (I also had a huge crush on Don Adams). WHY WON'T THEY PUT GET SMART ON TV LAND? I swear to god I get so furious when I see shit like "High School Reunion" on there..THAT IS NOT CLASSIC FUCKING TV! Grr.

Well, now that I've got THAT off my chest, let me say RIP Robert Culp.

I had to go to IMBD and look up curly-haired-guy's name: William Katt. And I was older than 5, more like 15, Amada Rae, lol!

From IMDB trivia: William Katt auditioned to be Luke Skywalker, opposite Kurt Russell, auditioning for Han Solo. Bizarre!

Now back to Robert Culp. . .

Ahhh Bert Convey. He was hot back in the day. I remember watching Tattletales when he was the host. I liked Bobby Van too, he was married to Elaine Joyce. Robert Culp was a good actor. It was good to see him pop up from time to time.

I had a crush on Bert from Tattletales, too. I was only five or six, but I thought he was so handsome. I also had a major crush on Robert Culp on Greatest American Hero, too. I was so glad to see him turn up from time to time as Deborah's dad on Raymond. So sad that he's gone.

think i mentioned this before, and give me some space, 'cuz i was like 14 or 15, but his (i want to say COUSIN) and dated a friend of my mom's. the relative was a super nice guy, and did some extra work with robert. never heard a bad thing about him, and even the relative (barry culp) was a really nice guy.

such a sad thing. oh, and greatest american hero? i remember it being on, i think the same night here as
wkrp. because it was one or the other that kept me from going to the hospital any sooner to have my son.
and mikey post did the theme song, whoever brought that up. we're big fans of him, too.

Thanks, Enty, for the nice post. I may have to break out the GAH cape and run around for a few minutes.

That is so sad. He was one of a kind - and I always wanted to see him play Donald Rumsfeld . . . for laughs.
:o(
