I Saw This Movie

Do you remember the movie where Jon Cryer suddenly wasn't Ducky anymore but was some bearded guy with a job who chain smoked? It was only a year after Pretty In Pink but it might as well have been a lifetime. The movie was called Hiding Out and the plot was that stockbroker Jon Cryer had to pretend he was a high school kid to avoid a hit man. Well, in something straight out of that movie, Jon Cryer says his life is in danger and that his ex-wife has hired a hit man to try and kill him.

The FBI has been involved for the past week and the show Two And A Half Men was filmed without an audience last week and the same will hold true this week. I don't know if it is true but it is certainly a way for Charlie Sheen to not get any heat from studio audience members. He can blame it all on Jon and keeping him safe. For her part, the ex-wife denies everything. Like she would admit hiring a hitman. I actually believe her though.

I love that movie too. I hope his ex gets a nice paycheck from Charlie's people.

Isn't he in a similar position as Jesse James/Sandra Bullock? Ex-wife is a porn star and he and his new wife have custody of the son from his first marriage due to her neglect?

I don't know, I certainly hope it's not a real threat and I don't mean to diminish its significance of it is, but actually this sounds like paranoia and that it's being indulged in particular by the studio.

i feel for jon cryer here as she is a complete piece of work- she was arrested after trying to strangle their 8yr old, he was found with rope marks on his neck, so i wont put anything past her.

I'm confused as to why Enty believes the wife. Does it have something to do with Charlie Sheen wanting less negative publicity?

BigMama said...

@Sarah I think it has to do with the fact that the story is just plain rediculous.

Totally remember the movie too. What I remember most was the duet of Crying with Roy Orbison and KD Lang that was on the soundtrack. One of the best duets of all time.

The movie is called "Hiding Out" where he winds up back in high school (hiding) from the mob. Liked it so much I got it on DVD.

He'll always be Ducky to me. And I will always love Ducky.

Couldn't pay me to watch and episode of Two and A Half Men though.

LOVE Hiding Out!!!

In fact, I caught it on cable a couple months back, and just laughed at how ridiculous movies were in the 80's. But, man I love em, and I'll continue to watch silly 80's movies!!

I hope this isn't true. She sounds like a horrible person if she did try and strangle their son. :(

Cryer's ex-wife is nuttier than a wagon load of pralines. I can easily believe this.

This is BS!

When a woman accused David Copperfield of sexually abusing her, everyone was like oh - he's totally guilty. Even after the Prosecutors said they'd never prosecute because she's made OTHER FALSE REPORTS - it was oh, he's totally guilty.

Then you have someone who has seeming never made outrageous claims before and who doesn't have anything for he himself to personally gain by making false accusation and now all the sudden we believe in innocent until proven guilty?

What's up with that?

Is that John Spencer sitting next to him? I loved him, he was a great actor.

Well, if somebody's gunning for Jon Cryer, I hope they miss and hit Charlie Sheen instead! That would be poetic justice.

Kara, not everyone thought Copperfield was guilty. I know Copperfield's attorney. I don't think he was guilty for various reasons, none of which I'm at liberty to repeat. lol

Solid Flick. Great fake name while in HS. "Maxwell Houser" Classic.

Assuming the ex is getting alimony wouldn't she be at a disadvantage financially if he died? This doesn't make sense to me but maybe she's just crazy.

121007, I had read a quick blurb a while back that he called the cops on her and their son was in the hospital being looked at, but I didn't know exactly why. Whoa. Poor, poor kid.
