Brad Pitt - Truth Or Fiction?

Do you remember the pictures above? They were taken on Halloween when Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie took the kids out for some trick or treating. It was a very family thing to do and it probably won't happen very often. Well, according to Life & Style, Brad Pitt passed up $5M to go trick or treating that night.

Brad had been scheduled to appear that night in Abu Dhabi at a Grand Prix ball and was being paid $5M to show up for the event. A spokesperson for the event said, "We were told he would be attending as the guest of the Tourism Development and Investment Company. But he was a no-show, and nobody seemed to know why."

My guess is that he wasn't scheduled to show up because if he was then he would be getting sued right about now. Do you think Brad would pass up $5M to spend Halloween with his kids? That is a lot of money for one night to just say no to. I don't know whether to believe the story or not. It makes Brad sound like the father of the year which is why I am suspicious of it. I'm sure he is a fine dad, but it is almost too fatherly to be true.

he has PLENTY of money, so i am not surprised that he or anyone LIKE him will turn down 5 million. which will turn out to be 2 million after every one else gets their cut.

I believe it. Dude doesn't need the cash and kids are only of trick-or-treating age for so long. He seems like a great dad.

The first photos of the twins paid nearly three times as much. I mean on its face it just seems this doesn't sound like a real business arrangement.

Doesn't need it.

Nope, I agree with Enty - a contract is always involved when this much money is at stake. Break the contract and a lawsuit ensues. Unless Brad privately paid them out damages, which would then end up costing him even more money, I don't buy it. The only other possibility can be that this only has a kernel of truth; maybe he was in talks to make the appearance but never actually signed on.

He's so high in the stratosphere wealth-wise that I believe this story. It's probably the equivalent of $500 to most of us.

LOT OF MONEY....BUT I DOUBT HE WAS COMMITTED. HE WAS PROBABLY INVITED, THAT MUCH I DO BELIEVE.

I'm not that cynical when it comes to Brad & Angelina and the kids. I'm sure they have an army of help, but they seem more hands on parents than most celebs.

I work in the industry and have never heard of ANYONE being offered that amount of money for a personal appearance. Ever. And I agree, if there was a contract, there would litigation right now. And the twins pics going for 15 million? Doubt it.

Is there any reason he couldn't have taken the kids (and AJ) with him? I think if he had, he'd get more $$.

I don't know if he's a good dad or not. But he's made a kajillion bucks already, and yet he hasn't retired from doing movies in which I'm sure he's shooting for several months for $15-20 million, and I'm sure he's missed a couple of birthdays, at least. Why not take an easy $5 million for one night?

I think it wasn't a done deal.

Brad and Clooney play media jokes on each other all the time. Who wants to bet that Clooney threw this out there for fun.

This whole story smells of fake...$5m fee to show up at a Grand Prix ball in Abu Dhabi? Paid by the Tourism Development and Investment Company?? No way. Sounds like a fake company name to me, and I agree with Enty, if this were true there would be a contract and a lawsuit.

Love that they actually went out trick or treating with their kids and dressed up as well!!

i think this is preventative spinning from the brangelina camp...of course it's all bs, but something must be about to break, hence the need to make him sound like a good daddy.

If not a fake company, then a company trying to get publicity like Yeah, Brad was supposed to be here but he bailed. I think it's more to make them look good than to make Brad look good.

I don't need to hear stories like this--and don't care if they are true or not--to know that Brad is an excellent father.

Everything we see in the news, etc. can't be all fabrication. These are two genuinely GREAT parents, period.

Like he didn't know that October 31 is Halloween and, oops, he (or his people) scheduled an engagement. I don't believe it for a second.

Never mind the $5 million dollars... what in god's name is on his head???

LottaColada said...

He def does not need the $$$ but the real question is who gives out 5 million for any type of event?! That's just crazy talk

I doubt he needs the money, and like someone else said, kids are only trick or treating age for so long. However, I don't think he was "scheduled" to do anything. I think the offer was made and he declined. I also have to wonder about who would spend that much for a one off appearance. Yeah, the Saudis have money to burn, but still. Were they hoping he'd bring Angelina?

I cant' believe he dressed up as the guy from Yo Gabba Gabba! LOL...

All I know is that I can look at this picture....look at my husband... look back at the picture.... and say "Baby, you are SO much hotter than Brad Pitt!!!!!"

:D

VeraLyn, Brad's costume is DJ Lance Rock from kids' show Yo Gabba Gabba (And I LOVE it!). Duuno about the rest though.

the bulls left something behind in the pasture..nope. Brad Pitt is not worth 5 million dollars for a event. Methinks the two books that are going to be hitting bookselves have much to do with all this sunshine and lollypops image they will be selling on a newstand near all of you.
