Like I Needed Another Reason To Love Whoopi Goldberg

I'll be honest, I'm biased because I love Whoopi. Love everything she has done from standup to films to hosting the Oscars to Ted Danson. Hey, I still watch Jumpin Jack Flash every few months. Now, on The View she is actually the one person out of any talk show that I feel will ask any question of any celebrity and not feel the need to suck up. Will she suck up? Sure, if the celebrity is her friend she will. But, I also bet in that situation she will realize that and let the other co-hosts ask tough questions. She doesn't care about not being able to get guests. She cares about getting the answers to the questions she has. The video below is Whoopi basically calling out Denise Richards and asking her why she has to include her kids in the reality show.

It is possible that if cameras had not been rolling that Denise would have taken a swing at Whoopi, who would have then kicked Denise's ass. And another thing, I know that Denise's mom died of cancer. It's tragic and I don't wish it on anyone. It is a horrible, horrible thing, but she uses it like a get out of jail free card and to me that is just as bad. She's doing the reality show because her mom wanted her to do it. She got together with Richie Sambora because her mom had cancer. She and Richie broke up because of the press and because her mom had cancer. I'm not making these up or exaggerating, this is what she has said. I get it. Your mom had cancer and passed. I hate that for you and your family, but stop using it as an excuse for everything you do and have done that shows you in a negative light.

Now, without further ado, here's Whoopi. Thanks to DNfromMN for the clip.

  2. One of the best things about that clip is the priceless look on Joy Behar's face ....

  3. And I quote "I'm not out to trash my ex-husband.."

Uh, hellllloooooo, Earth calling. You are a whackadoo, lady, and those poor kids are f*cked for life.

Jeez, seriously, never thought I would be promoting sleazy Charlie Sheen as the better parent, but yet...

    Oh, and yeah Whoopi!

I had to send this on when I saw it. A) Denise deserves someone calling her on her crap, and b) as much as we go on and on about people and their kneepads, it's great that Whoopi is willing to ask the good questions.

  5. i saw this earlier and was practically peeing myself over Whoopi's ballsy questions.

love love love her. if they'd only get rid of the Liz and Sherri and get some smart women on there i'd be happy. it should be joy and whoopi period, between those two they'd find Osama, cure cancer and beat Paris Hilton back under the rock she came from.

  6. Ent, I owe you an apology. Denise Richards is a skank, and an ignorant hustler.

I've always loved Whoopi, and now I think she and Joy are a terrific team. God bless them both for calling this cow out in the street where she belongs.

And I agree that she should stop trading on her mother's suffering. If she must do that, she could at least take a beat and remind people to get checked for breast cancer or colon or whatever.

  7. You know, my dad died of cancer, and therefore I must move to L.A. to stalk Shia LaBoeuf.

    Wow! It really DOES work!

  9. Wait. We're missing one. The e-mail where she asked Charlie for a sperm donation for baby #3 was fabricated by others because the date of the e-mail was the exact date she discovered that her mom had cancer, and so, she wasn't thinking of adding to her family that day at all. That one was from the Today show, think. One of the really early shows, anyway. I saw it at like 6 in the morning.

  10. Totally agree that Whoopi and Joy are the reason to watch 'The View'. Whoopi has a way of making everything seem reasonable without getting dramatic, while Joy just tells it like it is, after actually researching what she's going to say. Elizabeth is on another planet, and Sherri, though humourous, doesn't come across as very bright.

I liked that Whoopi asked a relevant question, even if it was met with a canned answer. She knows what's going on in Hollywood. She's respectable, and you get the feeling when she goes for the throat that it's not just to entertain the audience. I think she actually has something like principles. What a novel concept!

  11. My mom has bi polar disorder and is a mean bitter person-so now I can go off and run amok??? Denise, hate to say it hoey mc hoebag-your mom's cancer did not force you to spread your legs to your "friends hubby" and then get pics of you all over the place smoking wacky weed. And as for not trashing the father of your children that you are "not exploiting because hey, Kim K and her family have a show"-every time you open your mouth, you trash that man. We should all send Massengil products to the E! network because she is a giant talking C-U-Next-Tuesday.

OK, moose will be nice now!!

  13. She's so plastic and creepy, every time I see her I get a strong feeling that she is actually a Cherry 2000 with a malfunctioning chip.

  14. Wow! I was disappointed when I first heard that Whoopi Goldberg was joining The View. She always struck me as so much smarter than the people who were/are on there. Now I see that she's upped the IQ of the show considerably and does so well as the voice of reason. Yannow, it might be worth suffering the fools just to see her do her thing.

  15. I have always loved Whoopi. I love the scene in "Jumpin Jack Flash" where she's trying to decipher the lyrics to the song and is like "I was raised by two lesbians.....Mick, Mick, speak English!" lol

As for Denise, what a waste of oxygen. Not even gonna go there.

  17. All my White SheDevil love is gone. I let Denise skate for a long time because of that role. But what a moron. Glad you called her on using her mom's death, of all things, to justify famewhoring her kids on TV, Ent.

Denise mentions she had a horrible year but the only thing she mentions is her mother having cancer. Kind of sounded like their was more than just her mother being sick. I used to like Denise when she was married to Charlie but after their divorce I thought she went kind of nutso. Don't know who is telling the truth but sometimes the things I hear about her makes me wonder.
