If anyone has an idea about how to make the Timmy comments more manageable, please let me know. My idea is to give each one of the guesses its very own post. Obviously there would be some overlap and not every comment has a guess, but it seems that may be an easier way to keep track of everything. I would then add them to the labels so it would be Timmy - "guess" and then you could keep track of your favorite guess.

hey if someone who got it right as you say why not tell us because I am personally burnt out on researching the people again that were already mentioned before 10:01 this morning like dates or name of the person that got it right if only one or how many people got it right because i havent been able to sleep because this seems scary and the black and white photos are highly creepy
My suggestion would be that you reveal who Timmy/Shimmy is, so people have some closure! If someone guessed it, please show mercy and do an early reveal (December is too far away).

ok was it somebody that was guesses on day one and this will be before midnight your time... hey the most popular guesses were judy holliday, alice brady, kay kendall, and marie dressler so if you do it plus dont put too many people in it give us the correct one and two random people just dont make it too hard for us

i agree with tom tyler .. the only manageable thing to do is reveal .. and then post another great bi .. as this one was so much fun and everyone truly worked together .. and if you arent going to reveal, at least narrow it down some .. give us a few "and its not" so that we can narrow from there .. or a 20 year span or something .. my god, i almost lost my mind and my job over this .. hahaha .. but not my sense of humor ..
How about a daily juicy hint? Then just reveal it. We've given you thousands of comments, and for our dedication we deserve another hint!!!!
One "Timmy" post daily will keep the # of comments down to more managable.
Or eliminate one guess per day.

How about cribbing a bit from the horrible alliteration queen herself, ms. ted casablancas, and maybe drop us a hint or two (or three or four) about who it's not -- out of some of the names already guessed -- to cut down on much of the redundant (and even argumentative) comments?
If you can't reveal now, then yes, put up 3 pictures and start 3 threads (with the tease that one of the people person pictured will be revealed to be Timmy/Shimmy). Otherwise, I have no incentive (or time) to read through 20 different threads and will just wait until December.

Reveal it already. Messing with us isn't a good idea after all the work we've put into this. Especially when we put a lot of work into a couple of your blinds that you later said you decided not to reveal at all.

In regards to the Clark Gable is gay accusation, I saw Carole Lombard mentioned for the blind item on another site. She died in a plane crash, but I don't know if actual bodies were recovered.

on labor day we got nothing from you please be good to the lovely posters here and give us something to help ease our minds about timmy/shimmy at this point i will even take the real timmy name it will something else to research but atleast it would make most of us happy and btw christmas is too long.......
Rebecca - I knew about Gable awhile back, and he was one of my first picks for the a-lister (see first post), however he was married many times and produced a child w/ Kay Williams.
I really liked having all the guesses on one thread--the posters would follow one lead for a while, and then switch to someone else. If we were only able to discuss one person per thread, I for one wouldn't find that as interesting and would probably just drop out of the whole thing.
One reason it got to be so many was that it was a holiday weekend, so you didn't give any updates for three days. I think the best way to make it manageable would be to throw us a new bone every day and ask us to only post in the latest thread.
mags--The bodies on Carole Lombarde's plane were charred beyond recognition, but they did find some of her hair, jewelry, etc.
Also, it was a commercial flight and there were many witnesses who saw her board the plane. In fact, she was asked to give up her seat for some pilots (the war was on), and she refused. Further, her Mom and and a close advisor died with her.
I'm sure that won't be enough to satisfy the diehard conspiracy theorists among us. I can hear it now--the Mom was a paid accomplice, etc. Geez.
Gable had a series of wealthy and well-connected older women who sponsored him and paid his way from the beginning. I'm skeptical of the gay-for-pay theories, because he was just never that desperate. (Remember that he hated gays.) He WAS a self-centered bastard, but I just can't see it considering that the way was paved for him at every turn.

Ent, because there are about 8 of the same guesses, why not eliminate one "actress" at a time? My eyes are going buggy from reading all the posts.

how do you want to manage the guesses? by guess and the nubers of subscribers? By hints?
I tried this in one of the last posts, to extract the timmy guesses. Shimmy is always the Oscar winners list list. Also i put the named pairs together.
Basicaly nobody answers the BI wich is, you said, a particular role. The most guessing is on Shimmy, based on the given clues - most of them without making any reference to the Shimmys Timmy. Sorting what you have now is hard.
You could make three new posts - one for each group Timmy, Shimmy and Timmy/Shimmy, asking people just to name the name of their choice and adding the number of the Posts regarding it.
Example:
In your Pairing post I submit my favourite pairing: Marie Dressler/Tim McCoy and then i add my time tags of my posts in that endless post. Also i could ad a pro or a con beside the tags.
This way you could have some order. And you could look for the research done on one singular name.
Second Idea - you enter five tags, timmy pro, timmy con, same for shimmy and one for the pairings. Then ask people to copy their arguments in the right folders, and delete them from the huge stuff. This way there will be some redundancies disappearing. Makes something more readable. Maybe then there will not be some repeated posts.
Third idea: you rule one heavyweight out ;-) and ask for related entries to be deleted.

my guess is the 2nd alice brady but wishing on a star that is judy holliday because of the scandal it would cause, but then again thats why i know its not her.
Give us one hint a day and encourage posters to keep on the current hint thread. I think that keeps it simple. And thanks for such a great BI!!! And to everyone: Great posts and research! Makes me wish I had more time online!!
You know what I think would be fun? If EL posted a photo of Timmy. Even with that, we'd probably all be going in sixteen different directions. Some of us might even do a photoshop version turning him into a woman to see how close we get.
